Configuration of filtering systems

The filtering systems are fully configurable and allow you to effectively protect your email. This step is not necessary to start the service.

Indeed, the default setting provides you with an adequate level of protection and security.

However, the extensive functions for configuring security rules at domain and/or user level, list management and user subscriptions to their quarantine report, will allow you to fine-tune the service to suit your specific email usage. The console reports and feedback from your users will be excellent indicators for refining or customising this setting over time.

Administrators can configure the security policy they wish to apply to messages in the protected domain, or to certain users (or groups of users). The configurations are put into production at regular intervals (10 min) on all processing servers.

Configuration of security rules :

The configurations can be applied

- At the level of the entire domain

- For a user or a group of users (see below)

For most of the configuration blocks, the possible actions :

- Quarantine: put in quarantine (users will then be able to release messages blocked in Quarantine, depending on their subscription)

- Destroy: Permanently delete the message making it impossible to recover. This is the behaviour applied when a virus is detected.

- Tagging: Add a "tag" between brackets at the beginning of the subject of the message: [SPAM], [NEWS] or other.

- Deliver: do nothing at the filtering level, and pass the message on as is.

In the Notification block, you can choose to notify :

- Sender: the sender of the message

- Recipient: the recipient of the message

- Administrator: the domain administrator (the one defined in "Domain Settings").

You can alert several people at the same time (in this case you need to put a group/list email address).

If the action is "Deliver", no one will be warned, even if there is a checkbox. Depending on the threat, it is possible to refine the rules.

The configuration is used to set the filtering rules, which define what action to take and who to alert when a threat is intercepted.

For each rule, different parameters can be chosen:

Setting the spam meter thresholds

Humail check (turing test) by captcha

Permanent removal of viruses

Classification or categorisation of e-mails

Enable anti-spoofing (only for the domain rule)

Limit the maximum size of e-mails

Detection of content types to deliver, quarantine or delete the email

Detection of non-RFC SMTP compliant emails

Geographic filtering
