How to restore an Optimails mailbox?

The Restore tool allows you to restore an account in case of a user error resulting in the deletion of email data.

How to access the restoration tool?

1. Log in to your administration interface.

2. Go to the Mail tab => Tools

3. Then on the left side of your screen, click on Restore

How to select the account to restore?

Choose a date: select a date on which the lost contents were still present.

Choose a restoration: select the restoration you want from the latest restorations performed by our system.

The later the date, the fewer restoration points we keep.

Select a user: the relevant account in the "user" drop-down menu.



You can then choose to restore all folders (including calendars and contacts) or to restore only the INBOX of that account.

By checking the box
"Restore all folders (if this box is not activated only the inbox will be restored)

The restoration process is not immediate, it takes 5 minutes, and may even take longer depending on the size of the mailbox.

Notification message :

A notification of the restoration status will be sent by mail to the administrator and the user (the restored box).

See an example of the notification mail received from "restore@security-mail.net" in the inbox.

Access to restored data :

The email data is restored in a sub-folder named as follows: "INBOX_XX_XX" (followed by the date of the restoration request).

The user must log in to the webmail client to access this folder.




Access to restored data via email client:

The user can synchronise the data in the user's mail application (Outlook, Thunderbird and others...). To do this, he must subscribe from the webmail client

1. Identify the folder to be synchronised IMAP

2. Click on the + and select subscriber file



3. Enter the account address and Save



The user will be able to retrieve the restored data and make the necessary manipulations to classify the messages.
