DNS Verification — e-securemail Dashboard

Category: Administration · e-securemail
Target Audience: System Administrators
Level: Monitoring & Diagnostics

Overview

As soon as you log in to the e-securemail administration console, the homepage displays a DNS verification panel for the selected domain.

This panel provides an at-a-glance view of the status of the DNS records essential for your email deliverability:

Record Role
MX Defines which servers handle your incoming emails
SPF Specifies which servers are authorized to send emails on your behalf
DKIM Applies a cryptographic signature to each outgoing email
DMARC Defines the handling policy for non-compliant emails
BIMI (optional) Displays your organization’s logo in compatible email clients

Understanding the Indicators

Each record displays a color-coded status:

Indicator Meaning
✅ Green Record detected and valid
⚠️ Orange Record present but incomplete or incorrect
❌ Red Record missing or invalid

🎯 The goal is to have all indicators green. An orange or red status indicates a risk of outgoing emails being rejected or classified as spam.

Why These Records Are Essential

When using e-securemail as the routing relay for your outbound mail flow, these records are not optional — they directly determine whether your emails are properly delivered to recipients.

Without them:

  • Your emails may be rejected by recipient mail servers

  • Your emails may end up in spam folders

  • Your domain may be more easily spoofed

What to Do if a Record Is Orange or Red

  • Identify the affected record (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc.)

  • Log in to your registrar’s DNS management interface (OVH, Gandi, Cloudflare, etc.)

  • Create or correct the missing record by following the corresponding guide

  • Return to the dashboard — the verification updates automatically

⏱️ DNS propagation may take up to 24 hours after modification. A record may temporarily remain red immediately after being created.
