Classification or categorization of e-mails



You can choose to classify your mail according to its type. Here are the different types you can have:

  • Advertising: includes mass emails sent for advertising purposes, such as the promotion of a product or service.
  • Newsletter: includes emails from a mailing list to which you have subscribed.
  • Social: includes emails sent by social networks such as Facebook, Linked-In or Viadeo.
  • VIP: includes emails sent by VIPs
  • Personal: groups the user's private emails
  • Internal: includes mail sent between two mailboxes of the domain

The "VIP" and "Personal" classifications are associated with 2 new lists (and are therefore user-dependent) accessible in Filtering > Lists.

You can classify these emails by tagging them, storing them in file folders (for hosted email service clients) or sending them to quarantine.

Please note that the classification only applies to valid emails, i.e. with a score below the tagging threshold. This will allow you to prioritise your filtering against the classification.
