Marked as Junk Mail in Microsoft 365

This article explains how to manually create the 'ESM SPAM' rule in the Microsoft 365 mail flow of a tenant.
You can avoid manual creation by using automated deployment through the execution of a PowerShell script.

Creating the Junk Mail Rule in Microsoft 365

  1. Log in to the Microsoft 365 interface.
  2. Navigate to the Exchange mail flow section: https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/#/transportrules.
  3. Create a new rule.
  4. Name the rule "ESM SPAM".
  5. Then configure the settings as illustrated below.
 6. Add another condition to set "Message headers" and "Includes any of these words".  
7. Add another condition: the recipient's domain is (Specify the domains subscribed to the anti-spam service).  
8. Ajouter la condition 'L'expéditeur se trouver et Externe/interne, 'NotInOrganization'
 9. Finally, set the message properties for the spam probability by selecting 9.  

Once the rule is in place, you can access the setting from your console.

Note:
When the junk mail feature is disabled, users subscribed to quarantine will receive security reports including the quarantine.
